- The Nameless Time
When all is lost and the history of a people forgets itself, that is the nameless time. The annihilation of the record of a people and their cultural memory and identity, is the result of most conflicts in Beyond War.
- Rhocropolis
A Rhocropolis is a Rhocro - a City of the ordinary.... meaning a city of people who are for whatever theme, not the elite or the elect, but representative of the public for whom the state served, in the making of such place, and this their dwelling and protection.
- Rhonin Fortress
When a Rhocropolis falls under control of the Sanguine, it rarely survives as part of a collective. The imbalance of power forces other Rhocropoli to resist threat of complete cultural breakdown as Sanguine memory systems disembowel the theocracy and narcissism of identity politics that drive an industrial-era culture. Jobs become obsolete. Slavery becomes a crime against the memories of all who witness the suffering of peonage and bondage. Because the Sanguine can feel the pain of those they rule, there can be no peace.
- It Ends In Fire
The phrase "It Ends in Fire" is not a phrase you want to hear, but it describes in brief what could take centuries to explain - that the weapon system known as the "Sanguine" are very very very hard to kill.
- Death Coprocessor
Sanguine systems include a number of 'co-processors', auxiliary intelligence systems based on quantum computer placement in and outside of normal space, which operate as threat analysis and coordination of systems similar to a national defense or planetary defense central command.
- Quantum Singularity Reactor (QSR)
In Beyond War, a Quantum device is a measure of the ability to tunnel to the defined measure of space-time transactions known as 'causality nodes'.
- He Who Walks Through Walls
Thus far, the Sanguine seem like your dirty uncle rather than a truly unnerving enemy on the battlefield. This is the human aspect of their nature, contrary the very sinister elements of their extended abilities.
- Those Who Walk In Shadow
Somewhat more disturbing than the ability to walk through solid matter, is the Sanguine ability to become a shadow moving along the wall despite no object casting it, to enter into shadows in combination to the 'fade' ability, appearing to enter and leave shadows and solid objects alike as if portals accessible only to them and the people they are in physical contact with; and to manipulate and move shadows around the body while the Death Coprocessor operates the body of the Sanguine like a puppet.
- Outnumbered By One
Nothing is as terrifying as the prospect of the return of the King of Kings, for in the Prayer of Blood it is written that at one time a Sanguine defied the King - and destroyed a star. And when he did this, the King of Kings threw his galaxy through the Milky Way - destroying the entire galaxy, with a motion of his hand.
- Flank And Destroy
As technology advanced, human warfighters became enabled by the weapons of their time, and by the ability to move with speed and stealth to attack the enemy in a non-linear battlefield. Attacks can come from anywhere, when vessels can move outside of the ground and atmosphere, at speeds faster than light can travel, and cover distances greater than light itself can convey to observers.
- Perfect Patriot
While most are born into their species, the Sanguine can take others and make them into what they are. The Sanguine have criteria for this written in their internal book, "The Prayer of Blood".
- Power Armour
For fans of Heinlein and other authors, Beyond War brings to ground war and advanced warfighter design the concept of personal body armor extended to the maximum degree of transhumanism. The Sanguine are a people characterized by their universal nature of having recieved from another Sanguine or precursor species an internal version of personal armor and weapon system that changes the identity of the species and fundamentally transforms the individual.
